Another location in the TLK universe I've wanted to paint for quite some time now. This is the savannah scene outside The Refuge, where Pumba gets attacked by Nala, who is hiding in the grass. As usual, I tried to be as close to the movie as I could, but the original version is really crappy, if you can believe that - the tree was especially bad, so I made bigger changes and upgrades to this scene than usual. Now, if you would excuse me, my mind is numb from painting all that grass D:
The Lion King belongs to Disney. General Disclaimer: All of my TLK artworks are reproductions of original scenes from the movie(s) and were painted from scratch, using a reference screenshot for guidance. In the first step, I use a transparent layer over the screenshot to mark key locations (with dots and rough lines), which will later allow me to recreate the proportions and landmarks of the original landscape. This is a necessary step in the art of close reproduction. After that, the screenshot gets deleted. In the end, each of these paintings have higher quality and improvements over the original, as well as a more vibrant color palette and many changes in details.
